We struggle more with sculpting our weird ideas into discernable music than coming up with original ideas. A lot of folks knock samples and presets, but this track (like Teeming Antipathies on "Secrets that begin with 'a'") deliberately uses a very intact sample from a Carpenter Brut-inspired Serum sample pack in order to perhaps tether our unusual ideas to a more "established" sound...and we just love Carpenter Brut! We spent a lot of time listening to Cyndi Lauper's "Good Enough" on the Goonies soundtrack & tied it in to a Bonanza-type Western theme...it sure came out weird!more

We are experimenting with more round, 4-to-the-floor type beats to try to bridge our experimental composition and sampling style with a more listener-friendly format. Put another way, we are trying to sound "poppier" but still as weird as Maggotmouth...more
