Airmen of Note
Formed to carry on the musical style and tradition of Major Glenn Miller's Army Air Forces Orchestra. The United States Air Force Band: Airmen of Note consist of eighteen dedicated musicians who are honored to serve in the United States Air Force. Airmen of Note had a significant challenge, since in 1950 military bands were usually regarded as marching and concert ensembles; jazz and dance music were not generally associated with military music programs.

Melissa's Theme
“Melissa’s Theme” was originally composed as a love theme (for the ghost of a vengeful dead girl – figure that out), for a short film I scored in 2009. It became the theme for the second movement of my 3rd jazz concerto, “Regeneration 2020,” which appeared on my first album, “What Was Can Still Be” (July 2022). However, I always thought the melody was just a nice tune to improvise on, so decided it belonged on this new jazz septet album. Music composed & arranged by Tony SingingEagle. Produced, mixed and mastered by Tony SingingEagle. ISRC # QZ-WFQ-24-25544 _______________________________________ "Less is More" is the 6th studio album by jazz composer and recording artist, Tony SingingEagle. The 10 tracks are all original compositions (previously released as pieces for 17-piece jazz ensemble or 70-piece studio orchestra on earlier albums), performed by the composer and featuring special guest artist, Johnny Panfili on piano and electric piano. (Album Credits – Instrumentation) Tony SingingEagle: Steinway Piano, Fender Rhodes 73 Suitcase Electric Piano (left channel); Upright Bass, Fender Jazz Bass, Fretless Fender Jazz Bass; Drums; VST Horns (Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Soprano Sax, Tenor Sax, Alto Flute, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Euphonium). Johnny Panfili: Steinway Piano, Rhodes Mark V Electric Piano (right channel); VST Horns (Alto Flute, Flugelhorn). more

Divina Luz
I composed “Divina Luz” in 1973, as the 1st movement to my first jazz concert of the same name. It was performed live in concert at the Eastman School of Music that same summer. Last year (2023), I reworked the concerto a bit and renamed it “70 Winters Young,” which appeared on my 3rd album, “The Way It Is.” It was always meant to be played by a 70-piece studio orchestra, but this tune also works great as a vehicle for jazz improvisation. So, here it is for septet, as a jazz fusion/straight ahead piece. Music composed & arranged by Tony SingingEagle. Copyright © 2024 Aspen Danse Music, ASCAP. All rights reserved. Featured solos: 1, 2, 3) Tony SingingEagle, Piano, VST Tenor Sax, VST Trumpet; 4) Johnny Panfili, Electric Piano. Produced, mixed and mastered by Tony SingingEagle.
