A Brick Yard Story is an upcoming animated film that tells the remarkable true story of its creator—a man who defied the odds and turned his life around after years of struggle, violence, and incarceration. Born and raised in Brick Yard, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, he dropped out of school, was arrested for murder (charges later dropped in self-defense), and spent most of his teen and adult years in and out of prison, including a 10-year sentence. He experienced police brutality at 16, was shot, and lost multiple family members to gun violence—including his father, whom he reconnected with after 26 years, only to lose him two months later.
Despite these hardships, he made a life-changing decision: to return to school, earn his high school diploma and a college degree, and create a film that would inspire others to rise above their circumstances. Drawing inspiration from The Boondocks, he partnered with GoReal Art to bring A Brick Yard Story to life as an animated film. More than just a movie, this project serves as a testimony, a lesson, and a source of motivation for anyone who has ever felt trapped by their past. It proves that no matter how many obstacles stand in your way, redemption is possible, and your story isn’t over until you decide it is.more
