Come On In
Come On In is a track that was mostly improvised on guitar in my kitchen. The lyrics came later, but put into place exactly what a few personal struggles can feel like coupled with isolation. I honestly wasn't going through the best time, to put it lightly. But I always loved this song for its kind of visceral nature. Like a total anger that the guitar chords give to the whole thing. I liked that, and that also sometimes anger can be the most healthy reaction to process something difficult. When recording it I wanted the song to sound huge, like a short but violent punch to the gut, like the guitars are ripping through the speakers. The bass at the end spirals as I'm lyrically inviting listeners into this emotional landscape.more

Elevated
The epic closer for my newly released EP. I began this song with just the chorus piano chords and melody, but it evolved into something much more than that. I've always wanted to make a song that was acapella, and the introduction in this song was sort of like my attempt at that. The second half came through how I had to come back to those introduction vocal harmonies and somehow that is what came out. With those violins closing out the song, I knew this was the closer.more
