If These Trees Could Talk
If These Trees Could Talk is an instrumental post-rock band from Akron, OH, United States. They are Tom Fihe (bass), Jeff Kalal (guitar), Cody Kelly (guitar), Zach Kelly (drums), and Mike Socrates (guitar). Although their debut EP follows the HydraHead and Neurot school of thought, it's fair to say it's not a direct result as much as they share common influences: Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and other progressively minded rock bands. If These Trees Could Talk is certainly a rock band

XXXIII ~ Got Lost
The prequel to my magnum opus, The Meadow. A longing tune from a lost girl who would come to end the end of the world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mr Deuce, I'd like to play a song for you. And then, I'd like for you to play it, how you'd like to play it! And I want to hear the wonderful creatures I call the Fabrik play along with you too! This place is so enchanting, I want to add my own part to it. Would that be okay, Mr Deuce?" "ᴡʜᴀᴛ ꜰᴜɴ, ɪ ᴀᴘᴘʀᴏᴠᴇ!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~more

10m composing challenge Oct. 3rd ~ Do Ghosts Cry?
I made a challenge for myself this month, each day (after getting my drums and other instruments designed) I set a timer for 10m and do my best to compose some fire piano-work. This is the one I've liked best out of the 9 melodies I composed this month, so I extended it into a full song. Haven't quite spent an hour yet fleshing it out, so it will be better in the future when I circle back around to throw some weight into it. Enjoy!more

Lost Act II ~ Lost Girl
Sitting down to be with her new friend spade Melodies shaking violently, her fingers as they played - Vindikros, the lone piano in that open green field The place where ignorance is stripped away, dead words no longer concealed - The burning light of being here, exposed to endless dark Awareness of one's own lack of awareness, into the Truth to embark - The lost girl needed to be here, though here she'd not find her way Her time here in the Meadow would shape the coming of her days - Our old friend with his wisdom easily danced across the keys, his fingers forcing song (as always) as beautiful as could be - The Meadow terrified her at first, so quickly would it change The lone voice of spade's piano melody blooming wildly into a stage - As the notes rang out into the open field, spirits would gather 'round Drums erupting, violins singing, a soul-twistingly beautiful sound - The lost girl sat in astonishment, overwhelmed by this place The voices of all these ghastly creatures striking her with fear and grace - "THESE SOULS ARE NOT TO BE FEARED DEAR LITTLE ONE, COME NOW AND PLAY WITH ALL OF US! IT'S FUN!" - She'd been drawn to that old church piano where she escaped in younger days When father and her family and her obligations were away - But playing alone in the dark was nothing compared to this The violent beauty of the Meadow, music filled with terror and bliss - In awe of these unearthly creatures as to spade's melodies were they trailing, the lost girl watched them twist and jerk, their limbs on instruments flailing - She sat in silence listening nervously to the mass creating the song For two and a half minutes seeking her chance to play along - She mustered up her courage. our old friend felt it was time He played a slower melody to let her join in on the rhyme - She let go of her body and let her fingers love the keys. Her soul knew how to play its song with dignity and ease. - Never had she felt this way, keeping up with such musicians! It all seemed so effortless, her body free from inhibition - Joy flooded her being, an honor to play with such beautiful creatures she'd later find out these were deceased musicians, poets and teachers - An eruption of chaos and beauty shouted out from the field The otherworldly mass playing with all the might it could wield - In the afterglow of the chaos the two closed the book on the story The spirits standing in silence, respectfully listening to the glory - As the piano slowly fell to sleep, the two sat in a calm silence The once thrashing, explosive group now surrendering their violence - The lost girl sat at the piano, realizing she no longer felt any fear This place is not so terrifying after all.. I could get lost heremore
