Not about to Make Love to a Stranger
This song is strictly "country" (inspired by the music of Hank Williams). He swears to his estranged wife that he's not about to make love to a stranger - all the while he's dancing with a stranger. Do you believe him?more

Psalm for America
Misfortune! crow - we the magpies Apple orchard, war of dreams and a black eye Fathers forsaken, Fathers revered To either side the other is to be feared But I’m…not tired of you America - I sing this psalm in the choir for you America Do your roads lead to Jericho? Afterglow or fire and brimstone It is said, “Let him without sin cast the first stone” For the pen is now the sword, words the sabers in a civil war Then marching forth in divinity through a devil’s door Words of wisdom in the ink of scorn I’m so mighty tired of keeping score, yes I am But I’m…not tired of you America - I sing this psalm in the choir for you America Do your roads lead to Jericho? Shall we propose to you a toast or atone? It is said, “Let him without sin cast the first stone” Hallelujah America I heard the conversation stop Hallelujah America Land of freedom… is it not? O beautiful, lest we forget Sun comes up but we disagree if it's morning yet For patriot dream, for some tongue in cheek For each of us only sees what we wanna see But I’m…not tired of you America - I sing this psalm in the choir for you America Do your roads lead to Jericho? Does your soul cede self-control? It is said, “Let him without sin cast the first stone”more

Up In Flames
Song from our latest album UP IN FLAMES Well this desert sun's a demon Guns seem so out of place Now the enemy is obvious to me Blistering my face! It's no time to whine No weakness will do No lamentations Will get me through I came in loud over the border Sure was a show I was high as a kite But flying just too damn low Nose dived in the sand Jumped out of the plane A million dollars Up in flames A million dollars of something up back up in flames A million dollars, life-changing stash down the drain Nose dived in the sand Jumped out of the plane A million dollars Up in flames A million dollars of something up back up in flames A million dollars, life-changing stash down the drain Well is that a mirage or is the end of this desert Finally in sight? I talk to myself and, man, I argue About how I got in this plight Bought into business A small country store Too far off the main track Not there anymore A million dollars of something up back up in flames A million dollars, life-changing stash down the drain Bought myself into business A small country store Too far off the main track Not there anymore A million dollars of something up back up in flames A million dollars, life-changing stash down the drain A million dollars of something up back up in flames A million dollars, life-changing stash down the drain Copyright Michael Davies and Paul Ivor Jones 23 March 2021more
