This is the first song I ever released. I wrote and produced it for my Religion and Ecology final project in the Fall of 2021. The song was written through the perspective of Mother Nature witnessing the world fall apart by the hands of humankind. The making of this song was accompanied by my research on Indigenous worldviews involving land stewardship as well as the principles of "deep ecology", and how we can aid in the preservation of our planet by applying these teachings to our lives.
"Where Will We Go?" poses the question, "Where will we go when we destroy our planet?" and suggests that we start making changes in the ways that we treat our planet. As the song states, "The breath of life exists in us all, and if we don't believe, then we will all fall." It is important that we view all living beings as equals worthy of protection and respect — all living things are interdependent. We must acknowledge the weight of our actions and work toward more sustainable, reciprocal, and respectful ways of interacting with the natural world.more
