All, I wrote this song one afternoon just sitting around on the couch. It started out as voice memo recording for which I was thinking, hmmm, this has potential. It has an alluring vibe. It felt like it was calling to me. From there I wrote the bass part, finalized a format for the track and recorded it on my Tascam 8 track porta studio along with a generic drum track from the “Beat Station” app. I brought it to my collaborator in my “Groovecho” band where we dropped it in Logic Pro. He worked some magic and created an amazing sounding and detailed drum track and elevated it even further with his signature flare of melodic lead guitar work. The result after engineering, editing, mixing and mastering is a lush soundscape of an instrumental groove. I could not be happier how it transformed from the original iPhone voice memo/idea. We truly live in an amazing time for music creation. “Siren” is from our fourth album “Atmospheres” and was released this past spring. All our material is available on multiple streaming platforms.
