Roderick David "Rod" Stewart, CBE (born 10 January 1945) is a British singer-songwriter born and raised in London, England and currently residing in Epping. He is of Scottish and English lineage.
With his distinctive raspy singing voice, Rod Stewart came to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s with The Jeff Beck Group (1967-1969) and then Faces. He launched his solo career in 1969 with his début album An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down (US: The Rod Stewart Album).

Se trata de una composición coral cuya andadura comienza con el poema "Último ruego" (1903) del peruano Federico Barreto. Se tiene por autor de la canción al ecuatoriano Rafael Otero López, quien añade una parte de otro poema del colombiano Guillermo Valencia. La canción ha sido versionada por múltiples intérpretes como Los Panchos, Los Embajadores, Julio Jaramillo, Los Tres Reyes y el español Dyango, entre otros. Lo importante en mi opinión es que es un tema excelente, que merece la pena recordar. Yo lo he hecho a mi manera, con todo cariño y mis pobres medios. Ojalá os guste. more
