Pre-Singularity Rocky
Pre-Singularity Rocky - Creepy electronica soundtracking Rocky, after a recovery from his waterslide incident, returning to his hobby of exploring and photographing nature and abandoned areas, where he live-streams himself exploring a mysterious area on the now-defunct social media site 2Square, in one of his final recordings before he went missing. -- • Listen on MOULE WORLD Music: music.moule.world/pre-singularity-rocky • Listen to the CTRL album this is a part of: moule.bandcamp.com/album/ctrl • Pre-Singularity Rocky Merch: www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/164523391 • Cover Art Timelapse: invidious.nerdvpn.de/watch?v=jn-kmPYdLb8 -- Pre-Singularity Rocky began on July 28, 2024 and finished on October 7, 2024. It uses an altered melody from the track immediately following this in the CTRL album, The Singularity (https://slaps.com/track/81pFHoFd), as this track takes place immediately before it and before Rocky discovers it, dropping his camera in disbelief. -- In MOULE WORLD Lore: On August 31, 2024, someone asked Count Chiroptera on MOULE WORLD's Mastodon server "Where's Rocky?" and Count Chiroptera remembered bits of the second last video Rocky uploaded to the now-defunct 2Square (mastodon.moule.world/@CountChiroptera/113053035383469673). Frames from Rocky's final 2Square video showing him meeting The Singularity, albeit missing audio, were uploaded by MOULE (mastodon.moule.world/@MOULE/112875189427358035) a month before Count Chiroptera detailed bits from Rocky's second-last video as him exploring "some abandoned concrete rooms with checkered floors". -- Six days later, MOULE found a thumbnail of Rocky's second last video (which is in this track's cover artwork and what this track is about): mastodon.moule.world/@MOULE/113084357589489077. To this day, Rocky's second-last 2Square video is considered lost media, as most of the infrastructure for 2Square were hosted on the Fammus Islands which were destroyed by a tsunami. -- Let me know what you think on the Fediverse (mastodon.moule.world/@MOULE), and for more MOULE, visit https://MOULE.WORLD!more

Waterslide (Rocky's View)
Waterslide (Rocky's View) - A creepier version of my track "Waterslide" as experienced from Rocky's point of view. -- • Listen on MOULE WORLD Music: music.moule.world/waterslide-rocky-s-view • Listen to the original Waterslide: https://slaps.com/track/l4BtowC0 • Waterslide (Rocky's View) Merch: www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/164523691 • Cover Art Timelapse: invidious.nerdvpn.de/watch?v=On--uEUI2Fk -- Waterslide (Rocky's View) began on December 21, 2022 while I was taking a break from setting up my Mastodon server mastodon.moule.world. -- Taking place at the same time as Waterslide, but viewed from Rocky's Visionaria AR glasses, which in MOULE WORLD lore is a big no-no, not only because of the health and safety of wearing glasses down a waterslide, but also because sudden changes in elevation gain can cause literal bugs and horrific distortions of reality to appear in the glasses, that Visionaria's creator Robin just can't seem to stop from occuring unless they never get connected to the Internet. The track immediately following this is Æmberlance, as Æmber takes Rocky to the hospital after he collapses at the end of this waterslide. -- I had the idea to show cover arts that are different perspectives for other characters in the same cover artwork; in this case Waterslide, which this track is a creepier version of, takes places from the camera's perspective mounted on the waterslide, while this cover artwork is the exact same time and place but viewed right after Rocky opens his eyes after the "photo" (Waterslide's cover artwork) was taken. (Fun fact: the original Waterslide cover artwork which showed Rocky wearing the glasses down the waterslide gave me the plot point of making Visionaria AR glasses dangerous to wear given rapid changes in elevation gain which eventually became this artwork.) -- To make this track, I took the original regions from Waterslide's project file and then reversed and lowered the pitch of some glitchy samples I made for other tracks, as well as portions of reversed, slowed, re-pitched and reverbed tracks I've already released, namely my original Waterslide (without percussion) and my creepier tracks like Surreality, The Crypt, and Reality Collapse. -- To make this cover art, I used Assembly, a graphic design for iOS I use for making all my cover artworks, including the original Waterslide this cover art is based off of. I imported the SVG assets of the characters riding the raft down the waterslide from that cover art, estimated where they would be positioned from Rocky's point of view from that cover art, and redesigned the characters to be seen from the back. Then I drew the distortions the malware threats known as the Bugs would cause Rocky to see by wearing Visionaria AR glasses and then experiencing drastic changes in elevation. Some of these horrific distortions the Bugs generate include making the characters look robotic, with circuitry over their bodies, opened flesh revealing circuitry under their fur with bugs crawling out of and all over them, and objects and backgrounds on fire. Next, I messed up the letters in the title art to parody how gibberish letters appear in AI-generated media, which in MOULE WORLD lore is a sign of Bug presence. Finally, I brought this image into Enlight (an old version of Photofox), an image-editing app, as well as Glitch Studio and made many additions I ended up not going along with, such as a red hue within the glasses frame. -- Let me know what you think on the Fediverse (mastodon.moule.world/@MOULE), and for more MOULE, visit https://MOULE.WORLD! more
