Farewell to Fear
I hate fear.
When most people are afraid, they simply choose to “avoid” the thing that scares them, but I don’t want to be afraid of anything. If I’m scared, I want to OVERCOME that fear.
But that’s hard to do when we live in a world that’s constantly reminding us why we should be afraid.
People confuse fear for wisdom, when really fear is just a liar that makes you comfortably miserable.
The moment someone tries to step out and do something meaningful with their life, others will discourage and pull them down just so they can feel better about themselves.
I’m here to combat anxiety and fear with boldness and faith. Fear can make faith seem foolish, but when you stop to think about it logically, we know this life is temporary, while also being full of endless possibility. So why would anyone waste this gift living a “safe”, boring, and mundane life? What exactly are you trying to preserve?
Why not take the chance? Why not go after your dreams? What have you got to lose that won’t already be lost someday? The reason I strive to uplift and encourage others is because I need to believe this message for myself. I’ve always fantasized about an adventure, but it’s like I’ve been too scared to live it. Everyone around me seems happy with a perfectly normal life, but for whatever reason, that’s just not what I want. I want to live life in the way that’s going to make me most thankful for it.
When all is said and done, I want to know that I was thorough; that I made the most of every moment, the loud and the quiet, and that I’ll never take it for granted.
This song is about being done with fear and no longer letting it dictate your life. It’s about finally stepping out in faith and hoping for the best, because it’s worth the risk. There’s an adventure out there just waiting for you and me, and all we have to do is be bold enough to answer the call.more

A Mirror That Was Broken
The beauty of youth is that you don't have a past, so you have nothing to compare your future to, and therefore, you can look ahead with hope and curiosity about life. As you get older, you may be fortunate enough to have some memorable experiences that you'll cherish for the rest of your life, but unfortunately, such experiences don't last forever; only for a few chapters. As you enter into a new phase of life, it hurts to say "goodbye" to all you've ever known, and it's scary to look ahead and wonder if life will ever be as good as it once was. It's easy to get nostalgic, and spend more time thinking back on the past rather than truly living in the moment and being excited for the next step. I was in love once, long ago, and the heartbreak derailed my life. A few years later, all my friends moved away, and I found myself in a lonely place. It was a constant struggle, wondering if I should keep trying to revitalize the past, or let go and seek out a new beginning. It took a lot of time seeking God, praying, reflecting, and investing in myself by developing my skills, knowledge, and confidence. Then one day, I finally had the strength to let go, so I did. I felt so free. I'll always cherish the past I once had, but there's still a lot more life left to live, and I believe the best is yet to come. This song expresses the struggle of saying "goodbye" to the past, and learning to have a hopefully viewpoint for the future. Rather than feeling broken down and existing only as a shattered reflection of your former self, you can display the pieces confidently, knowing these experiences have taught you many valuable lessons, given you much wisdom, and now belong to your collection of stories that help to create a meaningful and adventurous life.more
