Old Radio (demo version)
This is a relatively rough demo of a tune my songwriting collaborator Andy Lee White and I wrote together. I composed the music and melody while Andy wrote some new lyrics with a whole different theme than my original working title. I was walking around aimlessly in my recording studio as I was contemplating a new path for the song's title/theme and I spotted my uncle's mother's 1940s Philco radio sitting against the wall. I blurted out "old radio," and I got a light-bulb that that would be a catchy song title that was a lot more mainstream and commercial than my original working title. Andy brainstormed lyric ideas for a couple hours or so and then we recorded this basic demo. He suggested taking a piece of the finish of the final chorus and turning it into a bridge. I plan to record backup/harmony vocals for this basic demo soon. It needs some clear harmonies during the choruses and bridge. For now, this is just to get the main structure solidified. Andy sang the first vocal track to establish the feel of the song. I had already finished composing the phrasing/melody of the song. Just wanted to know you all's thoughts on this. I played all of the instrumentation and recorded this digitally in REAPER, which is unlike some of my material that was recorded on sixteen-track one-inch analog reel-to-reel tape. Best regards, -Ryanmore
