The Teen Idles were pioneers of the DC Hardcore scene in the very early '80s. Their only release was Dischord Records' first. Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson went on to form Minor Threat, one of the most influential bands in all of punk rock and hardcore. The Teen Idles were among the first punk rock groups from the early 1980s hardcore movement to break out of their regional scene to tour and sell nationally.
