Early in his career JankyOfYLSTE caught thee eye of Grammy nominated SchoolBoy Q, He’s from The Jungles in the Crenshaw district in LA. If you’ve ever seen Training Day you know what I’m talking about. This was home to him. That is where he comes from. Jank is the grandson of the founder of Black (P)eace Stones. His grandfather came to Baldwin Village in 1968 from Chicago and started a black power group as a resistance against police brutality and to resist assimilation into white culture and maintain a distinct black identity.
