Stella G. Gitelman Willoughby is an eight-time ASCAP Morton Gould Award winner and finalist, and national and international award-winning composer from the US. She writes for solo instruments, voice, chamber ensembles, and symphony orchestra. Valuing the unique qualities of each instrument and performer, she strives to create works that highlight their unique sound, bringing it to the forefront.
Commissions include works for concert programs and recording projects, modern music festivals, documentary films, soloists and ensembles, audition repertoire, performance installations, and to accompany historical and liturgical texts. Her compositions are licensed throughout the U.S. and around the world.
Stella currently pursues her undergraduate degree in Composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studies with composer and professor Alla E. Cohen.
