Peter JB Carman writes songs, and sings them. He is a preacher and a pilgrim, an ordained minister and an activist. He lives in a very old house in an even older neighborhood a few hours' drive north of New York City, near the banks of the Mohawk River. Peter learned to play the guitar by pumping his little sister for information when she came back from lessons when they were both children. At the age of seventeen he spent every dollar he had and a few from his parents on a twelve-string guitar he found hanging over the cashier's head in a second-hand store. Peter listens to folk music, blues, old time, country music and music that just doesn't fit labels easily. He believes in good songs. He loves jamming with friends and has a monthly Saturday night gig at the Moon and River Cafe, just down the street. Since Peter wrote his first song at the age of 20, he has since authored numerous others, along with hymn lyrics. Most of it remains unpublished. Here we go.
