A little back story... around ten years ago, I contracted adult whooping cough and it lasted almost nine months. After it cleared, I'd lost my ability to sing. Completely. I couldn't sustain, I had no range, and I couldn't find keep pitch. It was soul destroying.
A few years ago, I decided I would try and retrain my voice so I could sing again. I picked four songs that I thought best suited my style and which would help me with range, subtlety, power, sustain, and overall control. I used those four songs daily, building up to the point where I was able to sing again.
As I have writers' block from finishing an album in July, I thought I'd take time to record a very rough and quick version of one of the songs I trained with - Bruce Dickinson's "Tears of the Dragon". This one helped with power, control, and subtlety. This is a fully licensed release, don't worry.more
