STYX: An apocalyptic track for apocalyptic times. Released in February 2020, the worldwide events that followed this year made this track much more prophetic. 🌋 ABOUT STYX: -- Styx doesn't just reflect the current state of the world. It was created in the early hours of December 9, 2018, heralding me leaving a very depressed state of mind back then. It conveys my journey through social withdrawal, very negative thoughts, anger... I'm unsure what made me feel this way, but...I felt that way. -- Styx is interesting in that it is one of a few to actually be what I want it to be; most of my tracks start out with me aimlessly pressing keys, then carrying it on from there if I like something, but the beginning of this track was exactly what I wanted from the beginning. -- When I listened to this track, that first thing that came to my mind were images of a fiery hellscape and me riding a raft on a river of magma deep underground. Hence, I named this track Styx. It reflects the hell I went through in my brain, after all, so Styx seemed very appropriate. And now, it reflects the unstable macrocosm all around us.
