One day I was listening to Alan Parsons Project for the millionth time and as usual, I was left very impressed by the quality of the recording and the balance between all the instruments. Naturally, I was inspired to do my best and try to achieve something similar in terms of clarity and complexity, while also adding my own spin over the elements. Since I do not have much in terms of equipment, I could only record the Bass, Guitar, Piano and some Vocals on my own, while the rest I had to program using my DAW and plugins. Since I am an atrociously terrible singer the vocals had to be processed to death and that's how I managed to make the "there's no pressure" line sound like I am a female. That's the reason there are also like 4 lines in the whole song... In addition, there are a few outsourced samples like the other female vocals and the sax part. At the end I am pleased with the way it came out. I have no idea about the genre but the song is somewhat "Chill" with elements of rock, soul and Jazz. Having in mind my background is hip hop I think it turned out interesting and listenable little project. Thanks for listening guys!more
