JaySwifa has been a force within hip-hop culture for over fifteen years now. Growing up in Columbus, Ohio he fell in love with basketball and hip hop. He developed a passion for both, but ultimately decided he would rather throw make beats and spit bars bars than a basketball. His mother was a dancer while his father was a musician with a recording studio set up in the basement, one where Jay would often sneak into in his younger years. From there he was fed music from the greatest artists of the time and beyond, including J Dilla, Timbaland, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Neptunes, among others. Jay soon would find his footing as one of the members in the esteemed rap group, Fly Union. Over the years he would have the chance to tour with Kendrick Lamar, collaborate and trade verses with heavy hitters in the industry like Pusha T and Big Sean, and land placements in popular media outlets as well as a spot on the NBA 2k14 soundtrack.
