J-Stylz made music his career when he auditioned for the world distinguished music producer, Teddy Riley. Teddy invited Stylz to become the newest member of the highly acclaimed grammy award winning group, BlackStreet. J-Stylz headed off to Virginia alongside fellow group members, Mark Middleton, Eric Williams, and Teddy Riley to prepare for his first tour in the United States, Japan, London, and Australia.
The tours introduced him into writing songs for nationally renowned artists to include Slim of 112, Bobby Jones, and the Japanese super group-- Full of Harmony, who debuted in the pop chart’s top 20 in their native home of Japan. Later J-Stylz signed to TRXperience for a few years as a writer and producer. He worked alongside the publishing company’s founder Teddy Riley to write, produce, and record the latest Blackstreet/BS2 album. BS2 became a reprise of BlackStreet to include its current members Teddy Riley, Dave Hollister, Rodney Poe and J-Stylz himself.
