Small Town Bullshit
Up-and-coming Adelaide pop-punk quintet Late Night Lies have released their latest single, the explosive ‘Small Town Bullshit’, a cathartic track about the struggles of growing up in a small town and longing for something more. Powered by a driving guitar riff and bolstered by universally-relatable lyrics, ‘Small Town Bullshit’ is a comical take on the feeling of being trapped in the place where you grew up. The lyrics hit the core of anyone who hates the idea of working a laborious job for $10 an hour, being unable to please their parents, marrying their high school sweetheart (who may be a third cousin), and having the local pub as their only form of entertainment. "We've all been there – feeling stuck and desperate to break free from mediocrity," say Late Night Lies. "This song is about that feeling and finding the strength to move on and live your own life.” First formed in 2021 amidst the height of the global pandemic, Late Night Lies came together out of a shared love of groups such as New Found Glory and Neck Deep, to name a few. With its members coming from the few corners of South Australia, the five-piece quickly gained a reputation for their high-energy live performances, with debut single ‘Stuck On Repeat’ more than living up to its name for many fans. ‘Small Town Bullshit’ is available now on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal, and is set to resonate amongst fans of iconic pop-punk bands such as Blink-182 and The Wonder Years. Be sure to follow Late Night Lies on social media for updates on future releases and live performances.more
