This release is many years in the making. I have loved music, especially hip-hop and the culture, since I started getting into music as a young kid. My fascination grew into picking up my dad's microphones to lip sing Luis Miguel songs while a DVD of his tour played in the background. As a 22 year old, in 2014, I wrote the lyrics to Grindin while walking on Hamilton Street coming back from Alexander Library at Rutgers, wearing a worn out pair of Timbaland boots with snow on the ground. I know 22 year old Alex would be proud of what I have accomplished until now. I filled my head with motivation and confidence and I knew what I needed to do to survive as a student and make it in the real world.
