Mace the Bass is the alter ego of bassist/songwriter Maceo Camphuis, a musician based near the city of Arcata, CA. His sound is filled with contrasting textures, taking influences from a multitude of artists such as the Deftones, Thundercat, Puma Blue, Alice in Chains, D’Angelo, Kamaal Williams, Metallica, Mississippi Fred, George Duke, Primus and many, many more. Overblown synth-like basslines, swelling vocal harmonies, airy bass chords and bombastic drums are just some of the sounds he uses to create his music.
