In 1997 Gassan Rahbani came up with the idea to form the first Arab girl group. After a hard time searching for the perfect girls, he finally sets his choice on the 4 actual members of 4 Cats: Raya Chammai, Aline Ourfalian, Maya Diab and Dalida Chammai Rahbani. After a live concert in Cairo on New Year’s Eve 1998-1999, 4 Cats traveled throughout most of the Arab world and the United Kingdom. Their first album was "Tic-Tick", released in the middle of 1998.
