The Bay Area's aFRO-mYSTIK artfully takes the dizzying beatscapes of primitive tribal rhythms and uses live instrumentation to mold them to the electronic sounds of the future. With the vocals of Liana Young, Gina Rene (of Soulstice fame), and Ismail Azeem, the bumpin' bass of Mr. Bungle's Trevor Dunn, the drums of Simone White (Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy), the percussion of Carlos Araiza, and the sampledelic production of Chris Smith aka DJ Fluid, aFRO-mYSTIK is the sound of dance music rooted in the traditions it grew out of.
