Gunfighter found its beginnings as a side project of Kansas City-based Molly McGuire in the spring of 1998. Formed in 1991 by singer/songwriter Jason Blackmore, Molly McGuire's history includes a first 7" on Caulfield Records followed by a handful of singles on Chicago-based Hit It! Records. After extensive touring throughout the country with acts like The Jesus Lizard, Tool, and Girls Against Boys, Molly McGuire was becoming quite the sought after act.
