She was signed to Parlophone at the young age of 15, after impressing record executives with self-written a capella songs. In 2000, at age 18, she released her first album Drama. The most successful single was “Money” which featured guest vocals from Beenie Man which went top 5. She was nominated for five Mobo Awards which celebrate music of black origin in 2000, winning one.

THERE’S SO MANY PEOPLE
This song is about now, modern life, it’s about justice, and freedom, and equality. nothing has really changed in our modern world, we are all going backward. People should not have to suffer in this day and age, they should have basic living rights, to live in their own country, to have a home, hot and cold water, fair pay, good housing, people should be able to support their selves and their families. Build a good community. For themselves, to live of their land and to just be civilised human beings. Who want to better themselves, to evolve to make a better world for all.
