KAITO and MEIKO are 2 Vocaloid softwares created by Crypton Future Media. They utilize the older Vocaloid engine, the predecessor for Vocaloid2 which is completely computer synthesized thus is less smooth sounding. Although rougher sounding, Kaito and Meiko are able to incorporate much broader voice range than Miku and Rin/Len.
Meiko's voice is based on Japanese female singer Meiko Haigo's. She is fit to sing anything from pop, rock, jazz, and R & B to children's songs.
