This is what Entertainment Weekly had to say about Langhorne Slim: 'The first thing you notice about Brooklyn folkie Langhorne Slim is his mercurial voice, which crackles with vulnerability — but hardens for withering curveballs (''Now I'm dreaming of leaving my demons/And the first one I'm leaving is you''). Remarkably, his ferocious backup group, the War Eagles, keeps pace with the sudden shifts of mood, evoking, by turns, the Pogues, Arcade Fire, and a very caffeinated Salvation Army Band.'
