The band MaraQya was founded in 2008 in Belgrade, Serbia. The idea was to bring something fresh to the Serbian music scene, music like: neo soul, soul, R&B, hip-hop. The sound of this band is, essentially, under the influence of jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, reggae ... and it can be called a modern soul sound with contemporary themes and sensibility.
