Martse (real name Martin Nkhata) was a hip-hop musician and producer from Malawi. He sustained severe injuries after the house he was sleeping in caught fire on 20 May. He was treated at Blantyre’s Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where he later died on 23 May. He joined the music industry in 2004. His love for music was highly influenced by Mphatso Katopola aka Dzimbiri of the now defunct Khamradzi. this prompted him to work on a mix-tape called ‘Raps and Dances’.
