Longtime fans of OneBeLo (formerly known as OneManArmy) may remember the underground hiphop classic Masters of the Universe by his group Binary Star. After the group disbanded, OneBeLo began focusing on his solo career and established his own independent label called Subterraneous Records in January of 2000. With Subterraneous, he was able to bring a handful of Michigan’s elite producers and emcees and help create an underground force in what they first dubbed their home state “Waterworld” back in 1998.
