When Baltimore based alt-metal act Dog Fashion Disco came to an end, it wasn’t the end of frontman Todd Smith, guitarist Jasan Stepp and drummer John Ensminger's musical output.
During the near decade the group spent in Dog Fashion Disco, Smith and his merry band of misfits would amass a loyal underground following of fans (dubbed the “mushroom cult”) through countless tours with the likes of Slayer, Mindless Self Indulgence, Nothingface and Lacuna Coil.

Brash
Yo! I hope this slaps!! Crank it!
For fans of: Mr. Bungle / Mike Patton, Nine Inch Nails, Battles, Oingo Boingo
No generative AI was used in the making of Jade Ring "Brash," the 2nd track from the debut album "PILLS."
"Brash" is a song that deals with moving from alcohol addiction to the pharmaceutical industry & wondering have prescription drugs truly changed who I am? Am I still the same person I was before? Better? Worse?
Jade Ring is a one-man musical project of contradictions. Jade Ring prefers to decorate their album art and stage show with loud, bright primary colors. They also go out of their way to avoid using their government name and hide their identity with a balaclava. At first glance, the aesthetic should be a joyful one. However, “Pills” is Jade Ring working through the feelings behind the bright and beautiful facade of modern American life: addiction, automation, loss of self and a negative view of the future.more
