She also performed for two years in London's Starlight Express. She has Portuguese, Chinese and English ancestry. She speaks fluent Cantonese Chinese. Saffron enjoyed her first success with N-Joi from 1990-91 and after splitting with the group, released her first solo house single "Circles" in 1992
