Sonnenkind (sun child) is a German folk singer-songwriter. He was born in 1980 and began to write folk-styled songs, played with guitar, in 1996. Musically he is influenced by other singer-songwriters, left-winged Reinhard Mey as well as nationalist Frank Rennicke, romantic Neofolk acts like Forseti or Orplid and folk musicians/songwriters from different countries like Trinh Cong Son (Vietnam), Ewan McColl (Scotland) or Fikret Kizilok (Turkey). His lyrics take an own stand, not trying to fit in simple ideological schemes.
