Now be honest… Even I can't make the difference between an AI voice & a real one on SUNO.com (They sampled the whole f@kin’ music on the web to come up with that hack. Tough love, but… We need an AI to differentiate human/musicians/singers creations from a prompt because people can't do it anymore. This is or will be true for all artistic endeavors… Who will do that ? Will our new tech overlords permit the serfs this knowhow ? What we are experiencing so far is the exact opposite. As Yuval Noah Harari pointed out; the first level should be to be told we are dealing with AI ! Where is the resistance ? In June 2024, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) filed lawsuits against Suno and Udio, two AI music generators, for allegedly training their AI models on copyrighted music without authorization: • The lawsuit The RIAA alleges that Suno and Udio's use of copyrighted music constitutes "mass infringement". The RIAA argues that AI technology is subject to copyright law and that AI companies must follow the rules. • Suno's response Suno admitted to using copyrighted material, but claims it falls under the "fair use" clause. Suno says its training data includes "essentially all music files of reasonable quality that are accessible on the open Internet". • Udio's response Udio also claims it qualifies for "fair use" status. • The record industry's response The record industry says that "there's nothing fair about stealing an artist's life's work". • The impact The lawsuit is the music industry's first attempt to use the courts to combat the technology.
