Dominican alternative pop/rock group Tabú-Tek started touring Santo Domingo’s club circuit in 1996, making the band’s debut with the release of Girar, getting its songs “Instintos” and “Escena Gastada” climbing on local charts. That same year, singer Max Martínez joined Beto Cuevas on stage to sing “Duelo,” a song from La Ley’s Invisible. In March of 1997, Tabú-Tek had the opportunity to open for Argentinean Latin rock act los Enanitos Verdes. A year later, they were voted Best Pop/Rock Band locally.
