The Chipmonks are a musical group from Scunthorpe, England. They are made up of chipmunks of varying numbers. The members of the band have changed over the years, and few of the original members are still playing with the band. They formed in 1957 and were influenced heavily by The Beatles, and also by The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly & The Crickets, and Chuck Berry. Seeing that The Beatles chose their name because it is a misspelling of beetles, The Chipmonks chose their name as a misspelling of chipmunks.
