WCK (abbrevation for Windward Caribbean Kulture) is a band from Dominica. They created the bouyon sound, a mixture of soca, zouk as well as dominican styles such as Cadence-lypso and Jing Ping.
The band was formed in 1988. Founding members were Wayne McLawrence (guitar), Keith Goddard (bass), Derick "Rah" Peters (drums & vocals), Cornell Phillip (keyboards), Irvine Phillip (keyboards & production). The first album to clearly represent the new sound they created was 1990's "Culture Shock".
