Vacillating in the Sober
This is from my upcoming album the soundtrack for The Apocalypse . it is written for 3 pianos and 3 pianists. There's a moment in the album storyboards where electricity is gone and the instruments switch over to non electrical orchestral type instruments. This song is performed on 3 pianos, that are now playing parts that belong to other instruments in very tight counterpoint. “(Vacillating in the) Sober” is an instrumental piece from my upcoming album Soundtrack for the Apocalypse. The idea is simple, but a little absurd: imagine finally deciding to get sober, checking yourself into rehab, and discovering that you picked the exact day the world ends. The music moves between uncertainty, anxiety, determination, and flashes of almost reckless optimism. It’s about trying to change your life while everything around you seems to be falling apart. No lyrics. Just the piano telling the story.more
