The jazz-rock fusion band Gammar was formed in 1983 by Björn Thoroddsen and Stefán S. Stefánsson. Björn and Stefán contributed most of the music along with the keyboardist Þórir Baldursson. Other members were Skúli Sverrisson bass, Steingrímur Óli Sigurðarson drums. Gammar released two albums Gammar 1 and Gammar 2 that were later released on a compilation Cd : Gammar 1 and 2 Later version of the band included: Martin van Der Falk, Stefán S.
