Zemliane (Earthlings) is a Soviet Russian VIA formed in 1978. One of the first official Soviet groups to perform not only pop rock, but also hard rock songs. The band was founded by drummer Vladimir Kiseleov and became popular in the 1980s when Sergey Skachkov became the band's frontman. Since 2006, the rights to the band's name are debated between Kiseleov and Skachkov, and their respective bands.
Zemliane are best known for "adventurous", "manly" songs about cosmonauts, stunt performers, racing drivers, sailors, etc.
