אלג'יר ("Aljir") was an Israeli Rock band that incorporated Progressive Rock, Ethnic influences and Jewish cantillations in their music. formed in 1992 by frontman Aviv Guedj, guitarist Gavriel Belachsan and drummer Dvir Lavie. the band had only become famous in 2004 due to the release of their second and final album, מנועים קדימה ("Meno'im Kadima").
