Megurine Luka (巡音ルカ) is the third installment in the character vocal series and was released on January 30, 2009 from Japan. Her surname combines Meguri (巡, Circulate) and Ne (音, Sound). Luka's voice is like a twenty-year-old female and she can sing in both Japanese and English. Her voice bank was sampled from Yū Asakawa - 浅川悠 . The manga artist Kei, who illustrated Miku, Rin, and Len, also designed her mascot.
