I wrote a whole bunch of songs 9 months ago and this is the last one I produced/wrote I think it came out well tell me what you think though :)
Lyrics:
I used to think healing meant never hurting. Like pain was a door, you just stop returning
But turns out it's more like a long crooked road. With flowers and cracks and stories I've told
There's coffee gone cold that still warms my hands. The laugh that escapes when it wasn't planned
I still cry at songs I thought I outgrew. But maybe that's healing too
I'm on this side of healing where the light's not always bright. But I've learned to sit in silence and still sleep most nights
I'm not a fix, but I'm still here. With every scar I hold sincere. It's not perfect, but it's real and revealing
This side of healing
I used to chase closure like it was a race. Like truth had a finish line I had to face
But now I find peace in unfinished lines. And joy in the way the ink rewinds
I talk to my fears like old roommates now. We've got boundaries, but we still hang out
I don't hate the mirror like I did back then. Sometimes I even grin
I'm on this side of healing where the pain still says hello. But I've stopped treating tears like they're something I shouldn't show
I'm not done, but I've begun to trust the quiet after the run. It's a mess, but at least it's appealing
This side of healing
I don't need a perfect ending, just a story I believe. And I'm finally the narrator of the chapters I still need
I'm on this side of healing where I laugh more than I fake. Where love means setting better fires, not just watching bridges break
I'm not old, but I'm not gone. And maybe that's the truest song. I'm not broken, I'm just finally feeling
This side of healing
Yeah, this side's not so badmore
