I wrote this song on January 10,2016 after hearing of the death of David Bowie and seeing his last truly disturbing video, :"Lazarus". The Man Who Never Dies (Requiem for David Bowie) The world out there has come in here from I don’t know where but the sky is clear Then I heard your name and I fell through fear Now I know your pain as it comes so near Oh I can’t cry from these dried out eyes just a thousand whys for the man who never dies All the lows and highs are an unclaimed prize for the worldly wise and a man who never dies In art deco dreams you are midnight cool a relentless beat for a dancing fool The boy who rose is the man who falls a noise that echoes in these old stone walls No you can’t fly from the old school ties why should the world despise the man who never dies? empty ellipse empty eclipsed empty these lips No one surprised by the fat disguise how your life defied the man who never dies more
