I wrote a first draft of this song when I was fifteen years old, but recently re-wrote the second and third verses and am really proud of the message this song has. Musically, it’s got a country vibe and the lyrics hold a strong message about the world we live in today, challenging ignorance, arrogance, social media, the media in general and the idea that we’re all just living in a ‘Cabaret of what to say’. The easy thing to do would be to turn a blind eye to the segregation and demoralisation going on in the world... this song is about how we’ve all been ‘sitting too long in the sun’. Communication is key right now, so naturally I’m communicating my thoughts and feelings through music. I hope you enjoy, Em x more
