The name Breaking Shadows comes from a fight many fellow veterans know: breaking free from the shadows that follow you. Stories about memory, war, ghosts, survival, and trying to step out of what they leave behind. The hood and the hidden face. Truth is less dramatic than people think. Breaking Shadows was always about the music and the stories …basically get them out of my head. …not about building a mystic personality around a face. Some songs come from places that are personal enough already. The work is real. The studio is real. The history is real. I just prefer to let the music stand in front.
