KillA CAD (born Stephen Cadwell) is from Detroit, Michigan and was raised in Novi, Michigan starting at the age of nine. He’s been a music lover since birth but never openly involved himself in music until 2017. However, when he did start he only intended to do so for the sake of having a good time and truly vocalizing his many thoughts. As he grew in maturity and music, Cad began to notice the depressive and traumatic state of his generation and glorification of it. While his first two mixtapes ‘Oblivious’ released in 2018 and ‘Cad Above the Rest’ released in 2019 (both available on SoundCloud) were reminiscent of this saddened yet upbeat style, his more recent projects ‘What Ever Happened to Killa Cad’ released in 2019 (available on SoundCloud) and his collaborative project ‘Potato Famine’ with rapper Shak released last year has taken a new tone challenging the norms of his seemingly damaged generation.
